  • Association of Vermont Recyclers -AVR promotes waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and buying recycled in Vermont. AVR provides information, assistance, and education to individuals, towns, solid-waste districts, schools, and businesses.

  • Carrying Capacity Network -CCN is a national, non-profit organization which focuses on initiatives that will achieve population stabilization, immigration reduction, economic sustainability, and resource conservation. It publishes a bimonthly Network Bulletin for members and periodic study results as part of the "Carrying Capacity Research Issues Series".

  • Catholics for Free Choice -Catholics for Free Choice works to support a women's right to choose and counters the work of the Catholic Church.

  • Center for Immigration Studies -The Center is a think tank which collects and distributes information about U.S. and global immigration issues.

  • Center for a New American Dream - The Center for a New American Dream helps people consume responsibly to protect the environment, improve quality of life and promote social justice.

  • Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA) -CEDPA educates and trains developing world women to provide education and training in their homelands.

  • Childless by Choice -Childless by Choice is "an information clearinghouse for people who have decided not to have children, and for those deciding whether or not to become parents". The organization supports reproductive choice including being childfree; is concerned about the environmental impacts of overpopulation; and works to educate people about the benefits of remaining childfree and to dispel the negative stereotypes of this choice.

  • EngenderHealth (formerly: AVSC International) - Access to Voluntary and Safe Contraception -EngenderHealth works to make safe and effective contraception available to all who want it. This organization is an important source of technical assistance to developing countries on clinic-based, quality-controlled family planning services.

  • FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the U.N.) -Information on global agriculture, fisheries,forestry, and water.

  • Federation for American Immigration Reform -FAIR advocates for US immigration reform and reduction.

  • Global Action Plan -GAP promotes and supports the development of environmentally sustainable lifestyles in communities around the U.S. GAP's Household EcoTeam Program empowers individuals to adopt resource-efficient lifestyle practices. Their Community Lifestyle Campaign brings the EcoTeam Program to municipalities. GAP has a Journey for the Planet curriculum for grades 4-6.                                                                                                                                    
  • Granite Earth Institute -This is one eight branches of the highly successful Northwest Earth Institute of Portland, Oregon. Earth Institutes provide discussion courses for community and workplace groups on Voluntary Simplicity, Choices for Sustainable Living, Deep Ecology, and Sense of Place.

  • International Planned Parenthood Federation -IPPF includes independent family planning associations in 125 countries where professionals and volunteers provide family planning services, training, public information, formal and informal education, policy analysis, and legislative initiatives.

  • Izaak Walton League of American -The IWL began 75 years ago as a group of anglers who were concerned about natural resources of the U.S. It has evolved to address human population growth, resource consumption, and pollution abatement. The League has several booklets and a curriculum on sustainable communities.

  • KZPG "KZPG" is a new age news broadcaster, using the internet, rather than radio.  "ZPG" is the acronym "zero population growth", the term coined by Paul Ehrlich to mean "population stabilization", and "K" is the prefix for Western US radio and TV broadcasters.

  • National Wildlife Federation, Population Program -Population staff at NWF work on advocacy as well as outreach to its five million members. Several fact sheets on population and environmental issues are available from NWF. They also have a Fast Action Network which is a telephone or e-mail communication tree for population issues.   • The New Road Map Foundation -The New Road Map Foundation is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to improving people's quality of life through an examination of their relationship with money. They are best know for the book, Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominquez and Vicki Robin.

  • www.popplanet.org - A new site by the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) and the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) covering relationships between population, health and environmental issues.

  • Negative Population Growth -NPG is a national membership organization that calls for a smaller U.S. and world population. It publishes a newsletter for members and occasional white papers.

  • Pathfinder International -This organization is one of the largest private U.S. organizations involved in overseas family planning services, population policy, and services for adolescents. It publishes a newsletter and special reports.

  • www.PLANetWIRE.org -The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has developed a major new resource, the AAAS Atlas of Population and Environment, to explore the complex and inextricable links between global population and environmental quality around the world.   • Planned Parenthood Federation of America -PPFA affiliates are the major source of family planning services in many U.S. communities and it has conducted a series of regional training seminars on population and the environment.

  • Planned Parenthood of Northern New England -PPNNE is the largest provider of comprehensive reproductive health care services in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine - serving over 55,000 patients each year. Its services include annual gynecological exams, birth control information & supplies, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing & options counseling, sexually transmitted infection testing & treatment, immunizations, school, sports, & employment physicals, and much more.   • Population Action International -Population Action International tracks and analyzes legislation and policy changes in the United States Congress. They have free fact sheets and booklets on "Why Population Matters".

  • Population Association of America -This is an association of demographers focused on matters related to population.

  • The Population Coalition -"The Population Coalition is a grassroots, nationwide educational organization started within local Leagues of Women Voters. The Coalition is dedicated to a fair and equitable U.S. dialog on population, consumption and sustainability issues." The Coalition publishes a bimonthly newsletter and is an active networking organization.

  • Population Communications International (PCI) -PCI produces soap operas for radio and television. It has been extremely successful in developing countries around the globe in motivating people to use family planning and have small families.

  • Population Connection -formerly ZPG is a national population membership organization that educates, advocates and brings media attention to population and environment issues. It produces a number of fact sheets, a newsletter, and curricula for K-12.
  • The Population Council -The Council does family planning research and publishes the Population and Development Review.

  • Population-Environment Balance -This organization works particularly on stabilizing the U.S. population.

  • Population Institute -The Population Institute educates and informs policy makers, media representatives and the general public about international population issues.

  • Population Media Center -The Population Media Center produces soap operas related to population in countries where PCI is not doing the same.

  • Population Reference Bureau -The Population Reference Bureau is a private scientific and educational organization which gathers, interprets, and disseminates facts related to population. PRB produces reports and teaching materials on U.S. and international population issues, as well as materials on population and the environment. They have a Population-Environment Film Library with many audio-visual materials for rent.
